Reading is Fun

Yesterday I was with my boss, he asked me to prepare the ‘functional statement’ for our division to which I will use the services specification module of our department as my point of reference. I gave him the module to which he skims through the pages, he made some marks with his pencil on selected chapters, and when he noticed it is quite voluminous he looked at me and said: “I know this is boring but you have to read all these pages so you can write what we need.” When I heard that, I simply smiled to my self and responded “no problem“. I smiled to myself because reading the module is peanuts compared to what I am accustomed doing during my university years (AB Political Science), wherein we are required to read several prescribed books overnight and submit a dissertation the following day. Similarly I can read a pocket book in one sitting.

Reading is fun! (especially if you are ‘getting paid’ doing it).
